Conway Brothers (The)
Biography

The Conway Brothers were an R&B\dance group that consisted of brothers Fredrick (who played the keyboard), Hiawatha (who played drums), Huston (who sang and played bass) , and James Conway (who played guitar). In 1983, they released their first single, “Get Live\Over and Over Again” on DEM Records. It’s unknown how or if the single ever charted.

In July of 1985, their single, “Turn it Up” peaked at #81 on Billboard’s Hot Black Singles chart, staying on the chart for 5 weeks. In the UK, the song peaked at #11 on the UK Singles chart, making it their highest chart appearance to date. A year later, their debut album, “Turn it Up!” was released on PBT Records. It’s unknown how or if the album ever made the charts. One of the songs from the album, “Raise the Roof” managed to peak at #81 on Billboard’s Hot Black Singles chart in March of 1986, staying on the chart for 5 weeks. In the UK, the song peaked at #77 on the UK Singles chart.

In 1987, the Conway Brothers released their sophomore album, “Lady in Red” which didn’t appear to make the charts just like their debut album.

The second single, “I Can’t Fight It” peaked at #84 on Billboard’s Hot Black Singles chart in March of 1987, staying on the chart for 7 weeks. The third single,  “I Just Want Your Body” was released, but didn’t go anywhere on the charts. After that, it seemed as if the Conway Brothers have faded into obscurity.
