The ultimate place for 80's Soul Funk & Boogie

Deluxe was a British street soul duo (Delores Springer & Toyin Agbetu).

Delores was a fashion designer from Hackney (East London) and first started singing at the age of 18 with a localĀ  lover’s rock/reaggae outfit. She then met young producer Master “the Beatcreator” Tee who was impressed by her talent vocal. He then enrolled her to his company, Unyque Artists (formerly Unique records) and created Deluxe.

The first single “Your Loving Drives Me Crazy”, a 3-track EP featuring Brixton soul singer Thomas Esterine, was self-distributed and sold 6000 copies in the London area without being available in the chain stores such as HMV or Virgin! It enjoyed a strong underground following and has topped Echoes Street Sales and Blues & Soul City Slickers charts.

Deluxe are part of a whole movement of Street Soul artists including Tongue’n’Cheek, Smith’n’Mighty, Rick Clarke and Rosaline Joyce who have all enjoyed chart success back in ’88.
